Tournament  Rules 6v6

Number of Players:

Six players on the field (5 plus a goalkeeper). A team must have a minimum of 5 players to start a game.

Field Size:

The field dimensions will be 35 yards width by 55 yards length.

​

Game Duration:

The game shall consist of two 20-minute halves separated by a 4-minute halftime period. The home team will pick the side of the field the want for the first half and the visiting team will start with the ball. Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie.

​

Extra Time (Quarterfinals / Semi-Finals / Finals)

If needed the game will continue with two 5-minute halves (played in full) separated by a 2-minute halftime. If there are still no winners, the game will be decided by penalty kicks.

No Offsides

No Slide Tackling/No Playing the Ball on the Ground – Indirect Free Kick Awarded for this offence

Direct & Indirect Kicks:

All dead-ball kicks (kick-ins, kick-offs, free kicks) are indirect apart from corner kicks and penalty kicks, and kick-offs.

Kick-Ins:

When the ball goes out of bounds, the ball shall be kicked into play from the sideline instead of thrown in. The ball is considered in play when the ball is touched and moves.

Five Yard Rule:

In all dead-ball situations, defending players must stand at least 5 yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal is closer than 5 yards, the ball shall be placed 5 yards from the goal in line with the direction of play prior to the penalty.

Substitution:

Substitutions may be made on the fly; players are to enter/leave the field via the half-way line. (Substitution of the Goalie must occur during a stoppage of play)

 – Any offence of this nature shall result in an indirect free kick to the opposing team from where the offence occurred.

Penalty Kick/Kicks from the Penalty Mark:

​

Penalty Mark Distance: 8-Yards
                                      3 Shooters per team, if tied
                                   1 shooter per team until a winner is determined based on goals

​

Cautions/Dismissals – Penalty Minutes

A player who receives a Caution (Yellow Card) WILL NOT serve any penalty minutes.

A player who receives a Dismissal (Red Card/Second Caution) shall receive a 5-minute penalty & the team shall play short for the entire 5-minute duration.  The player shall not be eligible to return in the same game.
